Smart search

The stock CS-Cart search matches from the start of a string and returns an empty page on the first typo. This add-on searches through Elasticsearch: it understands word forms and synonyms, fixes typos and a wrong keyboard layout, finds a Latin brand typed in Cyrillic, and keeps its speed on a catalog of hundreds of thousands of products. Results are shown in a search window with categories, filters, highlighted matches and voice input.

In 3.2: short words and synonyms match their own products more precisely. In 3.1: on iPhone the results in the window scroll right after typing a query. In 3.0: product promotion in search — chosen products go first in the results for chosen queries, unwanted ones are removed; rules are set in the admin panel, with an active period and a hit counter. In 2.9: the search window has a new design and shows products noticeably faster, the filter column has features from the catalog filters and "In stock only".

• Type cfvceyu — the wrong keyboard layout: the window shows Samsung products and says which query it used.
• Type bicycle, trousers or cellphone — these words are not in product names, synonyms find the products.
• Type headphnoes with a typo — headphones are still found, with matches highlighted.
• Type tv — the 610 Series LCD TV goes first in the results: a promotion rule pinned it, in the normal results it is not first.
• Type t-shirt — the left column lists categories with counts, price, brand and the "Color" and "Size" features: tick a color and the results narrow without leaving the window.
• Press / on any page to open search; use the arrow keys to move through the results.
• Put the cursor into the empty search field — recent queries and popular searches show up.
• Press the microphone in the search field and say the query — the browser recognises speech.
